Flaps control:
Operating flaps handle consists of a 3-position lever with UP, NEUTRAL and DOWN positions. The flaps can be set to any intermediate position by returning the lever to NEUTRAL when the desired position is indicated on the flaps position indicator.
In flight the selector lever should always be returned to NEUTRAL after any operation, but when the aircraft is standing on the ground for long periods is should be set to UP, as if it is left in the NEUTRAL position, any rise in temperature will cause the fluid trapped between the selector and the flap jacks to expend and thus subject the pipelines to excessive pressure (flaps pipelines damage is not being simulated in the current version of the VSKYLABS C-47).
Flaps position indicator:
The flaps position indicator is fitted in the LH corner of the instrument panel and shows the position of the flaps at all times.
